Overview

Clinical Duties

• Provide continuous care to critically ill patients in ICU, HDU, and emergency settings
• Assess, diagnose, and manage life-threatening conditions such as sepsis, respiratory failure, cardiac arrest, and multi-organ dysfunction
• Perform critical procedures including:
• Endotracheal intubation
• Central and arterial line placement
• Mechanical ventilation management
• Chest tube insertion
• Monitor and interpret diagnostic tests, imaging, and laboratory results
• Lead and participate in resuscitation (Code Blue) teams

Patient Management

• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (anesthesiology, internal medicine, surgery, nursing)
• Communicate effectively with patients’ families regarding prognosis and care plans
• Ensure infection control and patient safety protocols are strictly followed

Administrative & Compliance

• Maintain accurate and timely medical records (EMR documentation)
• Participate in clinical audits, morbidity & mortality meetings, and quality improvement initiatives

Teaching & Research

• Train junior doctors, residents, and nursing staff
• Participate in CME (Continuing Medical Education) and professional development
• Contribute to research and evidence-based practice

Education

• MBBS or equivalent medical degree
• Postgraduate qualification in Critical Care Medicine (MD, DNB, Arab Board, European Board, or equivalent)

Experience

• Minimum
• 3–5 years
• of experience in ICU/critical care after specialization
• Experience in tertiary care hospitals preferred

Skills

• Strong clinical decision-making and problem-solving skills
• Expertise in ventilator management and ICU protocols
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Ability to work in high-pressure environments

Working Conditions
