• Build reinforcement learning and post-training data pipelines for frontier model development.
• Develop evaluation infrastructure that measures model reliability for enterprise and public sector customers.
• Ship agentic AI applications and tooling that is observable, testable, and safe to deploy.
• Build tools that accelerate the growth of qualified contributors on the platform.
• Create fraud-detection systems that protect Scale’s contributor base.
• Use models to estimate task and contributor quality at large scale.
• Develop matching algorithms that pair contributors with customers for turnaround and accuracy.
• Create UI and UX tooling combined with machine learning algorithms for large-scale contributor workflows.
• Develop AI infrastructure products to visualize, query, and explore Scale data.

Requirements

• Graduation in Fall 2027 or Spring 2028 with a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
• Availability for a Summer 2027 internship with May or June start dates in San Francisco.
• Product engineering experience building full-stack web applications and integrating APIs and services.
• Previous Computer Science or Software Engineering internship experience.
• A track record of shipping high-quality products and features.
• Experience building systems that process large volumes of data.
• Experience with Python, TypeScript, React, and/or MongoDB.

Nice to Have

• Hands-on experience with LLMs, evaluations, or agentic systems through coursework, research, or personal projects.
• Open source contributions or a portfolio of shipped side projects.
