Role Overview
Scale AI is hiring a New Grad Software Engineer for customer-facing engineering work in its Global Public Sector team.
The team develops AI applications, training data, advisory services, and infrastructure for public-sector and enterprise customers.
Example Projects
- Build reinforcement learning and post-training data pipelines for frontier model development.
- Develop evaluation infrastructure that measures model reliability for enterprise and public-sector customers.
- Ship agentic AI applications and tooling that is observable, testable, and safe to deploy.
- Build fraud-detection, contributor-matching, and quality-estimation systems for Scale's platform.
- Develop scalable UI and UX tooling combined with machine learning algorithms for more than 100,000 contributors.
- Develop AI infrastructure products for visualizing, querying, and exploring Scale data.
- Build a customer service retrieval-augmented generation application and integrate churn prediction into customer retention systems.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation in Fall 2026 or Spring 2027 with a bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
- Product engineering experience with full-stack web applications, APIs or services, customer interaction, and iterative product development.
- Previous Product or Software Engineering internship experience.
- Track record of shipping high-quality products and features at scale.
- Experience building systems that process large volumes of data.
- Experience with Python, TypeScript, React, and/or MongoDB.
Preferred Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with LLMs, evaluations, or agentic systems from internships, research, or personal projects.
- Open-source contributions or a portfolio of shipped side projects.
