Job Overview
The role is a hands-on Software Engineer position focused on optimizing, integrating, and scaling core pharmaceutical technology infrastructure across UAE retail stores.
The engineer will support synchronization between point-of-sale terminals, management systems, and backend enterprise resource planning frameworks.
Healthcare Systems
- Architect and manage secure API connections between store software and regional regulatory portals, including Malafi data routing.
- Build and optimize transactional e-Claim modules aligned with local healthcare scheme submission validation structures, including Thiqa and major insurance providers.
- Implement automated parsing for electronic prescriptions, drug batch numbers, expiry dates, and pre-authorization validation workflows.
Stack Engineering and Architecture
- Develop maintainable backend code using modern object-oriented principles for heavy multi-site retail transaction volumes.
- Write complex, optimized SQL queries and manage relational databases while maintaining data integrity across distributed storefronts.
- Deploy, monitor, and scale retail microservices on secure, compliant cloud environments.
Operational Automation
- Standardize middleware systems to improve customer experience and optimize automated inventory tracking across nodes.
- Document API changes, localized POS peripheral configurations, and health exchange schema updates.
Technical Stack and Qualifications
- 3–5+ years of development experience within a retail chain, hospital IT group, retail pharmacy, or highly integrated retail enterprise.
- Advanced proficiency in at least one modern enterprise language, such as C#/.NET, Python, or Java, alongside master-level SQL skills.
- Proven experience handling RESTful APIs and modern exchange standards such as XML, JSON, or HL7 FHIR.
- Hands-on experience developing or managing applications built on AWS, Microsoft Azure, or GCP.
Education and Compliance
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or an equivalent technical program.
- Firm understanding of UAE healthcare billing layers, third-party administrator workflows, and e-claim validation files.
Preferred Attributes
- Professional proficiency in English and Arabic is highly preferred for engagement with local health authorities, corporate entities, and system vendors.
