About The Coffee Agent
The Coffee Agent is a technology platform for coffee lovers, baristas, coffee shops, roasters, businesses, communities, and other industry participants.
The platform includes social and community features, reviews, loyalty programs, ordering, payments, events, jobs, business tools, and analytics.
The product contains multiple interconnected systems, with quality integrated into design, implementation, testing, and release.
About the Role
This is a hybrid Software Engineering, Quality Assurance, and Product Testing role.
The role focuses on ensuring that the application works correctly, reliably, and as intended.
The position includes development, bug investigation, feature implementation, automated testing, integration validation, and collaboration with Product and Engineering.
Quality Assurance and Product Testing
- Test new features before release through functional, regression, integration, usability, and exploratory testing.
- Create test cases and validate complete user journeys, edge cases, failure scenarios, and product requirements.
- Reproduce and document bugs, verify fixes, and maintain regression coverage across devices, operating systems, and environments.
Software Development
- Investigate and fix bugs across the application and contribute to frontend and backend development.
- Implement small-to-medium features, improvements, internal tools, and code refactoring.
- Write automated tests, debug multi-layer problems, review implementations, and work with engineers to resolve defects.
- The current technology stack includes Flutter and Firebase; Flutter, Dart, or similar mobile technology experience is valuable.
Systems and Integration Validation
- Validate workflows involving authentication, user permissions, Firebase, Firestore, cloud functions, backend services, payments, Stripe, notifications, maps, and location services.
- Validate loyalty, orders, inventory, analytics, search, discovery, messaging, business management systems, and third-party integrations.
Product Quality
- Review feature requirements, identify missing scenarios, help define acceptance criteria, and challenge assumptions that may create reliability or usability problems.
- Test features from different user perspectives, identify design-to-implementation inconsistencies, and suggest improvements based on application behavior.
Release and Production Quality
- Participate in release-readiness checks, final smoke testing, post-release critical-function verification, and production issue investigation.
- Assist with bug prioritization and triage, track recurring failures, recommend long-term fixes, and maintain release checklists and quality standards.
Required Skills
- Software development experience in at least one modern programming language.
- Understanding of software testing principles, APIs, client/server architecture, databases, and application data.
- Ability to identify, reproduce, document, and debug software defects and understand an existing codebase.
- Familiarity with Git and version control workflows.
- Strong attention to detail, edge-case analysis, written technical communication, independent work, and ownership of problems.
Compensation
- Pay is AED 3,500 per month.
