Software Engineer III

Amtech is seeking a Software Engineer III to join our Cloud API & Label Traxx engineering team.

This role owns modules and components end-to-end across our AWS-hosted Cloud API (.NET 8/C#) and our flagship Label Traxx ERP platform (4D), a mature enterprise system serving the packaging and printing industries.

You’ll solve non-routine engineering problems independently, make sound technical trade-offs across design, implementation, testing, reliability, and maintainability, and contribute to design discussions that shape how the team builds and modernizes the platform.

Prior 4D experience is not required; the ability to quickly learn established and evolving architectures is essential.

The ideal candidate brings solid enterprise application development experience, strong debugging and analytical skills, and comfort working across both modern (.NET/AWS) and legacy (4D) technology stacks.

• Own end-to-end delivery of modules and components across the Cloud API (.NET/C#) and Label Traxx ERP (4D) platforms, from design through deployment.
• Independently resolve non-routine technical issues in business logic spanning order management, production, inventory, and finance workflows.
• Design, build, and maintain RESTful endpoints in the Cloud API, integrating with AWS services such as API Gateway, ECS Fargate, DynamoDB, S3, and Secrets Manager.
• Improve test coverage, reliability, and maintainability of owned modules; strengthen data integrity across relational and NoSQL data stores.
• Contribute to design discussions and code reviews, resolving issues that require independent judgment.
• Mentor associate and junior engineers informally; guide peers through implementation approaches.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, backlog refinement, and delivery planning using Jira.
• Promote effective use of AI-assisted development tools to improve engineering efficiency and quality.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 4–6 years of experience in enterprise software development.
• Strong object-oriented programming experience (C#/.NET preferred; Java or similar acceptable).
• Experience building or maintaining RESTful APIs; ASP.NET Core experience a strong plus.
• Working knowledge of AWS services such as API Gateway, ECS/Fargate, DynamoDB, or S3.
• Strong relational database experience (SQL Server, PostgreSQL) and exposure to NoSQL data stores.
• Experience with complex ERP, manufacturing, financial, or other business-critical systems.
• Hands-on experience with Git-based version control (GitHub preferred) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams using Jira or similar tools.
• Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills; comfortable owning ambiguous problems independently.
• Effective communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Codex) is a plus.
