Role overview
Homebase is hiring a Full Stack Software Engineer II for its Hiring Assistant team.
The team is building AI-native hiring workflows spanning candidate discovery, screening, matching, automation, and onboarding.
The role contributes to end-to-end systems and architecture across React and Ruby on Rails.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop scalable full-stack systems with React and Ruby on Rails.
- Build Hiring Assistant features from ideation through production.
- Evolve AI-driven hiring experiences and integrate AI, LLM, agent, and automation tools.
- Partner with Product, Design, and Data on high-quality outcomes.
- Support system design, performance, scalability, tooling, experimentation, testing, and AI-assisted development workflows.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of full stack engineering experience; Ruby on Rails and React are strongly preferred.
- Ability to design and deliver complex systems end-to-end.
- Strong experience with APIs, distributed systems, and relational databases such as PostgreSQL.
- Ability to retool workflows using AI and measure impact.
- Hands-on LLM, AI agent, or automation experience, or strong curiosity in these areas.
