Role Overview
DigitalOcean is seeking an early-career AI/ML Engineer for its AI Engineering team.
The team builds internal AI copilots and agents, an AI platform, and AI-native business processes across enterprise systems.
Engineers in the United States and India collaborate across time zones and own delivery for business domains while contributing to a shared platform.
What You Will Do
- Implement well-scoped features and components for agents, copilots, and platform services.
- Write clean, tested code and build evaluations for agent behavior.
- Integrate tools and data sources into agentic workflows using open standards such as the Model Context Protocol.
- Contribute to agent runtimes, model access, evaluation harnesses, and developer tooling.
- Apply prompting, retrieval-augmented generation, tool use, evaluation-first development, and observability.
- Partner with teammates and business stakeholders to turn requirements into working software.
- Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and on-call as you ramp.
What You Will Add
- Roughly 1–3 years of software engineering experience, or strong equivalent new-graduate, internship, or project experience.
