Role Overview
Join Pebl's AI & Knowledge team to help build Alfie, a conversational AI assistant.
Work as a junior full-stack engineer with a backend focus across APIs, data models, infrastructure, and occasional frontend features.
Report to the Engineering Manager, with day-to-day work led by a Staff Software Engineer.
How You'll Make an Impact
- Build backend features and services with TypeScript or Python, Postgres, and AWS in a serverless environment.
- Work on frontend features in React and TypeScript when end-to-end delivery requires it.
- Learn and contribute to LLM system design, including prompt handling, tool and function calling, and observability.
- Write clean, well-tested code and use code review feedback to improve.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to deliver features end-to-end.
- Troubleshoot production issues, including backend debugging and AI-specific failure modes.
- Stay curious about emerging backend and AI engineering tools and practices.
Candidate Profile
- 2–3 years of professional software engineering experience with backend-heavy work.
- Proficiency in TypeScript or Python and experience with database-backed features using Postgres or a similar relational database.
