Role Overview
Pebl is hiring a senior software engineer to help define user-facing experiences for Alfie, its conversational AI assistant.
The role is primarily focused on frontend and product engineering rather than backend AI infrastructure, RAG platforms, or internal developer tooling.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Design and build full-stack conversational AI features with particular depth and ownership on frontend and UX.
- Use LLM and agentic system experience across prompt design, tool calling, multi-step reasoning, and evaluation.
- Shape interfaces for streaming responses, recovery from wrong answers, fallback states, user trust, and human-in-the-loop moments.
- Prototype new interaction patterns as models and agent capabilities evolve.
- Build and maintain TypeScript and React frontend components plus backend contracts and APIs.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical, design, and code reviews.
- Troubleshoot production issues across the frontend and backend, including AI-specific failure modes.
Candidate Qualifications
- 8 or more years of professional full-stack software engineering experience with strong frontend and UX expertise.
- At least 1 year of hands-on experience building LLM-powered or agentic products.
