Amazon Music is seeking Software Development Engineers to build consumer-facing products and services with broad customer impact.
The team builds personalized music experiences across music applications, the web player, mobile devices, and Amazon Echo devices powered by Alexa.
What You Will Do
- Design and develop distributed, large-scale, high-performance systems for Amazon Music.
- Design multi-tier services capable of handling huge datasets.
- Write reliable and maintainable code using object-oriented design and C++ or Java.
- Adapt to new development environments and changing business requirements while creating scalable solutions to difficult problems.
- Participate in technical discussions, product decisions, and continuous improvement across the team and its products.
Basic Qualifications
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- 2+ years of non-internship experience designing or architecting new and existing systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language.
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent.
Technical Background
- Strong background in object-oriented design with C++ or Java.
- Experience with web services, XML, and Apache services is desired.
- Linux system development experience is a plus.
- Experience building large-scale, high-performance, customer-friendly products and multi-tier services for large datasets.
