The Social Worker plays an essential role within the multi-disciplinary team, providing a range of psychosocial services to residents, their families, and staff members. This role involves supporting residents through a holistic approach, focusing on enhancing quality of life and ensuring the well-being of seniors. As part of the team, the Social Worker will uphold the mission, vision, and values of The Brenda Strafford Foundation, fostering a culture of resident safety, freedom from harm, and ethical practice.

Maintain active registration with the Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW).
Engage in continuing education and professional development to stay current with social work practices and legislation.
Lead or facilitate committees such as the Family Support Group and Residents' Discussion Group.
Uphold confidentiality and ethical standards as outlined by The Brenda Strafford Foundation’s policies.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited institution.
Completion of a recognized Capacity Assessment Course.
Current active registration (or eligibility for registration) with the Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW).
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, demonstrating warmth, empathy, and professionalism.
Critical thinking and problem-solving skills within the scope of social work practice.
Basic computer skills.
In accordance with Alberta's Protection for Persons in Care Act , a criminal record check is required for successful candidates.
