Role Overview
The Senior Analyst is the escalation point for complex security incidents beyond first-line triage.
The role provides deeper analysis and investigative rigor while converting incident experience into improved SOC processes.
Incident Investigation and Response
- Handle escalated incidents from L1 through investigation, analysis, and resolution according to defined processes and SLAs.
- Analyze and categorize events by severity using runbooks and sound judgment for ambiguous or complex cases.
- Perform detailed triage and in-depth analysis of detected or escalated events across client environments.
SOC Process Improvement
- Build and maintain SOC operating procedures, playbooks, and incident response plans.
- Support SIEM use case creation by translating threat intelligence and operational learning into improved detection logic.
- Guide L1 analysts through knowledge sharing and team capability development.
