Role overview
AMD is seeking a seasoned SoC microarchitect with expertise or significant interest in system architecture.
The role drives architecture, product roadmaps, product requirements, and power, performance, and area optimization.
The position leads microarchitecture teams and works with architects, engineers, marketing, and business executives.
Key responsibilities
- Define microarchitecture requirements and technical specifications for SoC and IP blocks.
- Ensure hardware, firmware, BIOS, and software alignment across the complete SoC system.
- Identify complex technical risks and develop architectural solutions with IP and domain architects.
- Provide microarchitecture analysis, technical solutions, and contributions to platform and system architecture.
- Work with design teams on area, floorplan, verification, timing, emulation, and pre-silicon issue resolution.
- Support post-silicon teams with product performance, power, and functional issue debugging and resolution.
- Lead teams, share knowledge, mentor engineers, and negotiate priorities across functions.
Preferred experience and credentials
- Outstanding systems and SoC architecture foundation with expertise in one or more relevant architecture domains.
