Responsibilities
- Act as the business platform owner for Sitecore, representing user, content, and organisational needs
- Oversee the day to day business operation of the CMS, ensuring content stability, quality, and reliability
- Coordinate CMS related incidents, risks, and issues with ICT and vendors, including business impact assessment and escalation
- Participate in release, change, and risk forums as the CMS business representative
- Monitor CMS usage and performance from a content and user perspective
- Support content authors and editors by providing guidance, training, and best practice documentation
- Ensure content quality, consistency, and accuracy across the Sitecore platform
- Act as an escalation point for content related issues and risks
- Work closely with development, design, digital, UX, content, communications, and ICT teams to align CMS capabilities with business needs
- Coordinate and manage relationships with external vendors and delivery partners
- Translate business, policy, and user needs into clear CMS requirements for technical teams
- Identify opportunities to improve content processes, authoring experience, and platform effectiveness
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience managing, governing, or owning a CMS platform (preferably Sitecore) in a complex or regulated environment
- Strong understanding of government digital standards, including accessibility (WCAG), privacy, and content governance
- Ability to operate effectively in a shared ownership model, influencing outcomes without full technical control
- Strong stakeholder engagement, documentation, and communication skills
- Familiarity with UX, content design, and digital service delivery practices
- Exposure to Sitecore architecture, terminology, and cloud based CMS models
- Understanding of change, release, and risk management processes
- Relevant tertiary qualification in digital, communications, information technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- Sitecore certification (desirable)

Role Purpose
- The Sitecore CMS Manager is responsible for the governance and effective operation of the organisation’s Sitecore content management platform.
- The role ensures that digital content is secure, accessible, reliable, and aligned with government digital, accessibility, privacy, and information management standards.
- The role sits outside the IT department and acts as the business owner of the Sitecore CMS, working in close partnership with ICT teams.
