Site Inspector - Mechanical (Dubai Buildings Projects)

Job Summary

Customer and Client Focus

• Support project managers with client relations and expectations.
• Respond to client clarifications on technical and contractual issues when needed.
• Help ensure client satisfaction with construction supervision services.

Construction Supervision

• Support review of contractor work programs and submittals, including shop drawings, method statements, procedures, and traffic management plans.
• Maintain familiarity with construction drawings, specifications, standard details, and workmanship requirements.
• Monitor contractors' daily activities and resource allocation with planning engineers.
• Inspect construction works based on contractor requests for inspection and identify rejected work when applicable.

Quality and HSSE

• Conduct quality inspections with QA/QC engineers and raise quality issues.
• Monitor quality non-conformity action plans on construction sites.
• Support HSSE engineers with enforcement and monitoring of HSSE procedures and recording of HSSE non-conformities.
• Support materials testing and verification of samples against specifications and standards.

Project Closeout and Reporting

• Support review and response to contractor claims involving scope, schedule, and cost changes.
• Support handover and the defects liability period.
• Assist with commissioning reports, final inspections, snag lists, and monitoring contractor rectification.
• Provide input for Take-Over Certificates, Defect Liability Certificates, and project progress reports.
• Implement corporate policies and procedures.

Qualifications and Competencies

• A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering is preferred.
• Knowledge of construction supervision services and international engineering standards and codes is required.
• Good communication and organization skills and strong attention to detail are required.
• Proficiency in spoken and written Arabic and English is required.

Specific Experience

• At least 5 years of experience in the architecture, engineering, and planning industry at a regional or multinational consultancy firm.
• Experience with construction site inspections on large supervision sites, including progress, quality, and HSSE inspections.
