Site Engineer from Construction Background

Role Overview

Project Responsibilities

• Lead project planning and implementation while controlling cost, quality, and timelines.
• Define project scope, goals, deliverables, tasks, resource requirements, and full-scale project plans.
• Assemble and coordinate project staff and manage budgets, resources, schedules, and quality assurance.
• Track project deliverables and report progress to stakeholders and senior management.

Site Responsibilities

• Raise WIR and MIR inspections at site and obtain consultant approvals.
• Maintain site EHS procedures and policies.
• Ensure accurate setting out according to contract drawings or approved shop drawings.
• Coordinate operations with engineers and supervisors and liaise with foremen and junior engineers.
• Prepare technical queries and manage verbal instructions.
• Prepare method statements and inspection and test plans with site safety incorporated as a priority.
• Provide technical assistance and supervision, measure progress, and report project status.
• Monitor work, delays, variations, material testing, site interfaces, and quality issues.
• Prepare as-built information and ensure supervisors implement approved method statements and inspection plans.
• Ensure work follows QC procedures and ITPs and that identified defects are resolved.

Coordination and Reporting

• Coordinate with production teams to ensure materials are prepared and delivered to site according to priority.
• Keep production teams updated on site schedules and activities through email, WhatsApp, and other communication channels.
• Act as a liaison between the site and project team.
• Attend daily meetings with the main contractor's project managers and team.
• Handle consultant coordination and obtain timely MIR and WIR approvals for payment certificates.
• Email daily project reports to management and provide updates on progress, issues, and requirements.
• Handle multiple projects when required by management.

Compensation

• Pay is AED 5,000 to AED 6,000 per month.
• The job type is full-time.
