Role overview
The Shuttle Driver is responsible for the safe operation of shuttle buses and transportation of passengers.
The role is based at the Columbia College location and includes customer assistance and facility support.
Key responsibilities
- Perform vehicle inspections, maintain clean bus interiors, fuel buses, and log trip counts.
- Attend every scheduled workday on time and in uniform.
- Assist disabled passengers and customers with luggage or other travel items when applicable.
- Answer customer questions and refer customers to the Facility Manager when needed.
- Report accidents, policy violations, safety hazards, unusual occurrences, debris, water, and oil spills.
- Substitute for cashiers or valets when authorized.
- Maintain knowledge of the garage, local streets, landmarks, and freeways.
- Assist the Facility Manager with other duties as needed.
Qualifications
- A valid state-issued driver’s licence with a current address and an acceptable DMV record is required.
- Less than high school education, one month of related experience, training, or an equivalent combination is required.
- Employees must be able to read simple instructions, write simple correspondence, and present information effectively.
- Employees must maintain a neat, clean appearance and complete uniform.
Availability
- Shift requirements vary by location and may include third-shift and weekend availability.
Physical requirements
- The role requires standing, walking, handling cash and equipment, occasional sitting, climbing or balancing, and occasional lifting or moving of up to 75 pounds.
Compensation
- The salary range is $19.00–$21.00 per hour.
