SUMMARY The Shift Supervisor supervises and coordinates the activities of production workers, production lines and daily projects to ensure maximum productivity and efficiency while maintaining quality and safety standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
Other duties may be assigned.
Supervise production workers to ensure the smooth running of the production process for assigned shift(s).
Monitor quantity and quality of production and report on production related processes.
Check to confirm all products are produced to established specifications.
Monitor quantity and quality of production.
Verify that production schedules are met.
Maintain production records and prepare various reports.
Problem-solve and troubleshoot when needed to identify root causes and make effective corrections.
Advise regarding recommended equipment maintenance and/or repair.
Ensure training skills are met for current and future demands of shift.
Coordinate with other shift supervisors to ensure effective production handovers.
Advocate safe working practices and report hazardous conditions.
Maintain good housekeeping program for assigned shift(s).
Perform other job-related duties are directed.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Works under the direction of the General Foreman, Production Superintendent or designee to ensure quantity and quality of production.
Supervises production workers of assigned shift(s).
