Responsibilities
- Execute preventive, predictive, condition based, and breakdown maintenance activities in SMS
- Ensure maximum equipment availability and minimum downtime of EAF, LRF, RMHS, and auxiliary systems
- Monitor critical equipment performance and initiate corrective actions
- Lead maintenance activities during planned shutdowns and annual overhauls
- Analyze recurring equipment failures and implement corrective and preventive actions
- Maintain EAF equipment including electrode arms, roof lifting, furnace tilting, hydraulic power packs, water cooled panels, and injection systems
- Maintain LRF equipment including ladle car, alloy addition, hydraulic systems, fume extraction, and ladle turret
- Maintain RMHS including conveyors, vibrating feeders, screens, crushers, hoppers, bins, transfer towers, and dust extraction systems
- Troubleshoot hydraulic circuits and systems, maintain cylinders, pumps, valves, accumulators, and power packs
- Develop and implement lubrication schedules, monitor lubricant consumption, and conduct oil analysis
- Create and close maintenance notifications and work orders in SAP, plan preventive maintenance schedules, track spare parts consumption
- Conduct Root Cause Analysis for major breakdowns and implement reliability improvement initiatives
Requirements
- Diploma or B Tech in Mechanical Engineering
- 8+ years of experience in mechanical maintenance in steel melting shop or similar heavy industry
- Experience with EAF, LRF, RMHS, and hydraulic systems
- Knowledge of SAP PM for maintenance planning
- Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills

Job Purpose
- To ensure reliable and efficient operation of mechanical equipment in the Steel Melting Shop by executing preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance activities in EAF, LRF, RMHS, and Ferro Alloy Transfer/Handling Systems.
- The role is responsible for equipment availability, hydraulic systems, lubrication management, SAP based maintenance planning, and continuous improvement initiatives.
