Responsibilities
- Take full technical ownership of the client accounts, acting as the technology leader across all workstreams
- Accountable for the technical success of the account from pre sales through implementation, production readiness and post go live evolution
- Use technical and product expertise to define and drive clients' technical strategy
- Become an internal advocate of the client and bring the voice of the customer into the rest of the Backbase organization
- Identify opportunities for the customer to have better product adoption, provide guidance on best practices for custom components
- Collaborate closely with Technical Support, Product Engineering, and Project Implementation teams
- Partner with Delivery leaders to create delivery plans that balance time to market and quality needs
- Ensure technical quality and compliance with platform best practices across all squads
- Act as the technical face of Backbase towards the client's senior stakeholders
- Serve as a role model by being hands on when needed unblocking technical issues, supporting squads
Requirements
- Overall experience of 10+ years and 5 years of management experience with solid technical background, including experience in software and systems architecture
- Led enterprise grade software delivery, preferably in financial services or regulated industries
- Experience with most of our technology stack: Java, Spring, Maven, Gradle, Angular, Kotlin, Cloud Deployments, Docker, Kubernetes (on prem, cloud) and Swift
- Deep understanding of DevOps, CI/CD, Observability and SRE practices
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent relevant industry experience
- Fluent in English

- As a Technical Director, you are the technology leader of a strategic client account or a portfolio of accounts with end to end ownership of the technical success and quality of our solution delivery.
- You work in close partnership with Delivery and Sales Leaders, ensuring that our clients not only go live successfully, but continue to thrive and scale with confidence.
- You have the technical breadth and depth to drive solution designs with architects, partner closely with engineering leaders and lead from the front when needed.
- You set the tone for engineering excellence, while ensuring the right technical team structures and accountabilities are in place to deliver at scale.
- Throughout the client journey, you are the primary technical contact and trusted advisor, navigating between technical deep dives and high stakes conversations with CIOs and executives.

- You hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent relevant industry experience.
- You are fluent in English.
