A defence organisation in Abu Dhabi is seeking a Senior Weapons Systems Engineer for major naval programmes.
The role supports naval weapons systems and combat systems through engineering, integration, installation, commissioning, and acceptance phases.
The role
- Lead and support weapons-system integration onto naval vessels.
- Manage interfaces between weapons, Combat Management Systems, sensors, and ship or platform systems.
- Review system requirements, specifications, interface documentation, and technical designs.
- Support installation, integration, and setting-to-work activities.
- Troubleshoot technical and interface issues during vessel construction and commissioning.
- Support FAT, HAT, SAT, harbour trials, and sea trials.
- Coordinate with shipyards, suppliers, OEMs, and subcontractors.
- Ensure contractual, technical, safety, and performance requirements are met.
Requirements
- Degree in Electrical, Electronics, Systems, Weapons, Marine Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Significant naval weapons or combat systems engineering experience.
- Strong knowledge of naval weapon integration, including missiles, naval guns, or other effectors.
- Experience integrating weapons with Combat Management Systems.
- Understanding of shipboard sensors, communications, and combat-system architecture.
- Installation, integration, commissioning, and trials experience is highly desirable.
- Experience on complex naval vessels is strongly preferred.
- Experience with a naval shipbuilder, defence prime, combat-system integrator, or weapons OEM is advantageous.
