Responsibilities

Essential Skills and Experience
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering and sufficient industry experience is considered in lieu of an advanced degree.
- A minimum of 8 years relevant engineering experience with an emphasis in power system modeling and analysis, including load flow analysis and time domain analysis.
- Experience in load flow and contingency analysis to identify transmission thermal and voltage constraints and to identify transfer capability limits.
- Experience in stability analysis to identify critical clearing times, identify voltage constraints and analyze power system damping.
- Experience using transmission planning software for load flow modeling, contingency analysis, and stability analysis using PSS/E, PSLF, TARA.
- Experience in Python scripting.
- Experience in electromagnetic transient analysis using PSCAD.
- Experience in harmonic analysis using DigSilent.
- Experience with regional utility standards e.g DEWA, Transco, Saudi Arabia National Grid.
Valued But Not Required Skills and Experience
- Master’s or PhD in Electrical Engineering is preferred.
- Experience in modeling and application studies for HVDC converters and HVDC transmission lines.
- Experience in short circuit analysis and using software programs CAPE or ASPEN.
- Experience in the interconnection process for large generators (>200MW).
- Knowledge of power regions and ISOs/RTOs, such as: PJM, MISO, NYISO, ERCOT, SPP, CAISO, WECC, SERC, ISO NE.
- Experience in Java Script, or other scripting languages.

- Leaders often direct automation and process improvement work, e.g., automating calculations, summarizing technical documents, or generating design documentation.
- Overseeing engineers who program or script (e.g., Python, MATLAB, advanced Excel) to automate engineering tasks is valued but not required.
- Additional learning in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, or related fields is valued.
