About the Role

- Perform design management of various types of projects residential, commercial, warehouse/industrial buildings
- Review structural design of projects and initiate value engineering exercises
- Analyze and configure basic structural components to ensure quality of design
- Review design criteria (geotechnical properties, wind loads, seismic loads, etc.)
- Liaise with designers, including architects, to agree on safe designs
- Coordinate and oversee onsite material testing
- Ensure shop drawings and as built drawings are prepared accurately
- Lead and support teams through coaching and mentoring
- Support implementation of HSE initiatives
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Civil Engineering
- Minimum 8 years working experience, 5 years relevant, 2 years GCC is a plus
- Advanced proficiency in CAD software and other design tools
- Strong understanding of building codes, regulations, and industry standards
- ERP knowledge preferably SAP functional skills

Job Summary
- The Senior Technical Engineer performs design management of various types of projects residential commercial, warehouse/industrial buildings.
- Reviews the structural design of projects. Initiates value engineering exercises and identifies potential issues/constraints in design and construction during the early stages of design.
- Checks appropriateness of structural system and correctness of design criteria proposed by consultants.
- Provides direction to consultants to ensure complete submission of structural deliverables within project schedule.
- Performs the task of managing the documentation of the structural drawings in coordination with architectural and MEP Works.
Job Responsibilities 1
- Analyze and configure the basic structural components of a building or other structure for ensuring the quality of design.
- Review the design criteria (basic structural components, geotechnical properties, wind loads, seismic loads, loads, fire protection) and ensure adequacy of design.
- Analyze the structural elements to ensure the quality of the design.
- Analyze and reviews the loading plan and ensure compliance with codes and the project operational purpose.
- Determine the pressures that each component, such as a beam or lintel, will experience from other parts of the structure due to human use or environmental pressures such as weather or earthquakes.
- Study the impact of the temporary works (formwork, tower cranes foundations and supports) on the structural elements, provide calculations, details and ensure compliance.
- Liaise with designers, including architects, to agree on safe designs and their fit with the aesthetic concept of the construction of the proposed project.
- Provide safe structural solutions to suite the architectural and MEP requirements.
- Coordinates and oversees all onsite material testing, ensure that all such testing with spec and codes.
- Ensures weekly report detailing exact progress of all material requirements and areas of concern/delay.
- Ensures all shop drawings are prepared accurately followed by all as built drawings.
- Close out technical submittals to be made available.
Job Knowledge & Skills
- Advanced proficiency in CAD software and other design tools for drafting and creating technical drawings, ensuring accuracy and adherence to design specifications.
- Extensive knowledge of architectural and engineering principles to effectively coordinate technical aspects of projects and resolve design challenges.
- Strong understanding of building codes, regulations, and industry standards to ensure compliance and quality assurance throughout the design process.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, oversee technical coordination efforts, and align project objectives.
- Problem solving abilities to anticipate and address technical issues, optimize project outcomes, and contribute to the successful delivery of design projects.
- ERP knowledge preferably SAP functional skills are a requirement to be successful in this role.
