Role Overview

The Senior Tax Analyst will support U.S. federal, state and local, and international tax activities.

The role partners with accounting, tax, external advisors, tax authorities, and business stakeholders in the U.S. and India.

The position contributes to tax compliance, tax accounting, reconciliations, audits, notices, and related projects.

What You’ll Do

  • Prepare, review, and support state and local sales, use, commercial activity, and other indirect tax returns.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly sales and use tax accruals and related account reconciliations.
  • Maintain taxability and product-mapping data in sales tax systems, including Avalara AvaTax.
  • Prepare responses to federal, state, and local tax notices.
  • Support tax audits by gathering documentation, preparing schedules, and tracking open items.
  • Assist with U.S. federal, state, and international income tax compliance.
  • Support the annual ASC 740 income tax provision process, including schedules, journal entries, reconciliations, and documentation.
  • Assist with estimated tax payment analysis and tax-related general ledger review.
  • Maintain accurate, review-ready tax workpapers and support tax-related projects.

What You’ve Done

  • Earned a Chartered Accountant qualification or are a semi-qualified Chartered Accountant with a bachelor’s degree in accounting.
  • Gained approximately three to six years of progressive accounting and tax experience, including corporate tax experience.
  • Developed experience with U.S. sales and use tax, income tax compliance, tax accounting, or comparable tax disciplines.
  • Demonstrated strong Microsoft Excel skills with large data sets, reconciliations, lookups, pivot tables, and supporting schedules.
  • Worked with an enterprise resource planning or general ledger system; Microsoft Dynamics 365 experience is preferred.
  • Supported tax compliance, provision, audit, notice-response, or reconciliation activities in a relevant environment.

Work Arrangement

  • The role is full-time and hybrid, with three days per week in the Chennai office.
  • The role may require overlapping U.S. and India business hours.
