Senior Systems Engineer

As a Senior Avionics Systems Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering advanced avionics capabilities for the Eurofighter Typhoon, the UK’s primary multi-role combat aircraft.

Working within a large, multi-disciplinary Avionics Systems team, you will be responsible for planning and coordinating engineering activities, ensuring effective integration across internal and external teams to deliver high-quality solutions that meet customer requirements.

This role offers broad exposure across the full engineering lifecycle, providing the opportunity to develop deep technical insight into Typhoon avionics while collaborating with a wide network of engineers, project managers and stakeholders across a complex, high-profile defence programme.

Core duties:

• Utilise JIRA-based toolsets to maintain accurate and up-to-date programme data, providing clear and actionable inputs to Project Control teams

• Represent the integration function at key reviews, communicating the impact of subsystem and test activities on the overall programme schedule and cost

• Monitor programme risks and track the progress of mitigation activities, supporting effective deconfliction and resolution of issues

• Provide technical and programme updates, including delivering briefings to the Avionics Systems Management Team and wider stakeholders

• Support the coordination and deconfliction of integrated delivery strategies across key avionics product developments

• Contribute to the oversight of product design, development, test and qualification activities, ensuring alignment with safety and programme requirements
