Job Description

As an Engineering Lecturer, you will deliver teaching and learning across Aeronautical Engineering and Advanced Manufacturing Programmes, aligned to apprenticeship standards and learning delivery requirements. You will contribute to curriculum planning and development, assess learner progress and support apprentices in developing their knowledge, skills and behaviours through a range of classroom and blended learning approaches.

Core duties

  • Deliver high-quality teaching and learning across HNC Engineering and Level 3 Aerospace and Advanced Manufacturing programmes, aligned to apprenticeship standards and employer requirements
  • Support the planning, delivery, monitoring and continuous improvement of the curriculum, fostering a positive and engaging learning environment
  • Prepare, assess and provide timely, constructive feedback on learner work to support achievement and progression
  • Integrate English and Mathematics skills into teaching and learning activities where appropriate
  • Conduct regular apprentice reviews, setting meaningful targets and supporting the development of skills, knowledge and behaviours
  • Monitor apprentice progress, maintaining accurate records and producing timely reports to support learner success and performance improvement
  • Analyse learner data to identify trends, monitor performance and implement effective interventions where required
  • Contribute to apprentice recruitment activities, including interviews, enrolment, induction events, open days and learner engagement activities
  • Develop and deliver inclusive blended learning using Canvas and other digital learning technologies to enhance the learner experience
  • Promote innovation and best practice in teaching, learning and assessment to continually improve learning outcomes

Essential Skills

  • Proven engineering industry experience within aerospace, manufacturing or a related discipline
  • Experience mentoring and supporting apprentices in a workplace environment
  • A teaching or training qualification, experience developing blended learning resources and delivering through a Virtual Learning Environment (VLE), and experience delivering BTEC Engineering programmes up to Level 4 would be highly advantageous

The team delivers apprenticeship programmes across engineering, aerospace and advanced manufacturing disciplines. Using a blend of classroom-based and digital learning, the team supports apprentices throughout their programmes, providing teaching, assessment and learner support in line with curriculum and apprenticeship requirements.
