Key Responsibilities
- Ensure team adherence to accepted engineering and design practices, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications.
- Support standardization of equipment specifications, drawings, and document templates.
- Support checking, peer reviews, and incorporation of comments and findings.
- Provide technical supervision to designated offshore structural designers and draftsmen.
- Prepare and check specifications and data sheets; perform bid evaluations and vendor document reviews.
- Review detailed designs, drawings, specifications, calculations, data, and reports using required checking procedures.
- Manage offshore structural design and design changes within budget and schedule.
- Support project proposals, estimates, budgets, schedules, meetings, and progress reports.
- Review bidder layouts and site preparation to assess technical capability and compliance.
- Execute verification, studies, and detailed design optimized for cost, construction simplicity, operability, maintainability, and HSSE.
- Resolve technical issues, assess alternatives, document recommendations, and obtain customer approval.
- Work within quality assurance systems and promote safe working practices and HSE awareness.
Industry Experience
- Vast experience in detailed design of substructures, decks, and bridges across conceptual studies, FEED, and detailed design.
- Oil and gas industry experience on greenfield and brownfield projects.
- Availability for offshore site surveys.
Education and Accreditation
- Full-time bachelor's degree in civil or structural engineering from an accredited university.
- MME engineering accreditation is mandatory.
- Candidates without MME accreditation must be willing to obtain it during the probationary period.
- CPEng status or active pursuit of CPEng is advantageous.
IT Skills
- StaadPro, SAP2000, ETABS, SAFE, AutoCAD, and SACS.
Safety and Workplace
- The role includes offshore site survey availability and offshore structural project work.
- Personal safety, safe working practices, OH&S procedures, and environmental awareness are required.
