Role overview
AECOM is looking for a Senior Structural Engineer to join its Belfast office.
The role offers increasing ownership of projects, leadership development, client relationship responsibilities, and progression toward principal or associate positions.
The Belfast Structures team delivers projects across Northern Ireland, the UK, and internationally.
Key responsibilities
- Lead structural engineering delivery from concept and feasibility through detailed design, construction, and completion.
- Develop structural solutions using reinforced concrete, steel, masonry, and timber as appropriate.
- Prepare and review calculations, reports, specifications, drawings, schedules, and other deliverables.
- Review engineers' and technicians' work for accuracy, coordination, and quality.
- Manage technical delivery, including scope, programme, resources, technical risk, and quality.
- Coordinate designs with architects, civil and building services engineers, geotechnical specialists, and other disciplines.
- Attend design team, progress, and client meetings and resolve technical issues.
- Undertake inspections, surveys, assessments, investigations, and site support activities when required.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant UK and Northern Ireland standards, codes, regulations, and project requirements.
