Role Overview
The Senior Staff Software Engineer will define the technical vision for FinHub within Coinbase’s Platform Product Group.
FinHub provides financial infrastructure for account balances and money movement across trading, payments, financing, staking, and other products.
The role leads the evolution of ledger and money-movement architecture with emphasis on correctness, security, reliability, and scale.

What You’ll Do
- Define and drive multi-quarter technical strategy for the FinHub ledger and money-movement platform.
- Architect reusable primitives across fiat and crypto fund flows, including balances, holds, settlements, postings, transfers, and transaction history.
- Lead distributed financial workflow and state-transition rearchitecture.
- Enforce double-entry accounting, idempotency, invariant enforcement, reconciliation, auditability, and safe failure recovery.
- Lead cross-team initiatives through design, milestones, migration plans, rollout, and measurable outcomes.
