Senior Staff Data Platform Software Engineer (Persistence & Data Management)

Position Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Lead development of scalable data platform solutions.
• Write scalable code using concurrency and memory-utilization best practices.
• Execute data management strategies for scalability, efficiency, and security.
• Collaborate cross-functionally on data initiatives.
• Address data loss detection and recovery problems.
• Champion data best practices and security standards.
• Monitor and optimize data performance.
• Evaluate new data storage and management technologies.
• Apply AI to difficult data and distributed-systems problems at scale.
• Establish guardrails and processes for AI-led software development.
• Mentor engineers and foster innovation and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of software development experience in a high-traffic, cloud-based environment.
• Proficiency in Java, data structures and algorithms, concurrency, and parallel programming.
• Deep knowledge of databases, data modeling, and data storage technologies.
• Strong relational database experience with large-scale data.
• Experience writing and deploying Java services in Kubernetes.
• Strong understanding of cloud-based and distributed systems.
• Proven experience leading and mentoring engineering teams.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with distributed storage systems such as S3 and Apache Iceberg at scale is a strong plus.
• Familiarity with the ServiceNow platform is a plus.
• Working knowledge of JavaScript is beneficial for cross-functional collaboration.
• MCP/A2A-enabled platform experience is a plus.
