The role manages pre-award and post-award contract activities for an Abu Dhabi Ports business cluster.
The position supports procurement planning, tendering, contract administration, commercial evaluation, and contractual close-out.
Procurement and tendering
- Liaise with stakeholders to develop yearly procurement plans and ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
- Prepare expressions of interest, pre-qualification materials, commercial bid evaluations, and bidders lists.
- Examine scopes of work and supporting information for completeness and consistency.
- Prepare ITT packages using standard forms and coordinate issuance to approved bidders.
- Attend pre-tender meetings, arrange bidder site visits, and manage bidding-period correspondence.
- Prepare recommendations for award and Letters of Award.
Contract management
- Negotiate contract terms and conditions and administer guarantees, insurance, invoices, and related activities.
- Maintain contract logs and files and record agreed changes to ITT packages.
- Review and evaluate variations and claims and prepare recommendations for approval.
- Prepare contract amendments as required.
- Complete contractual close-out upon completion.
- Manage end-user expectations through timely and proactive engagement.
- Implement procurement initiatives and cost-effective solutions through appropriate tender strategies.
Qualifications and experience
- A bachelor's degree in Procurement, Quantity Surveying, Business Administration, or a related field is required.
- A master's degree is a plus.
- Six to eight years of experience in a similar role is required.
- Experience in pre-award and post-award contract management is required.
- Good knowledge of procurement regulations and industry standards is required.
Skills and languages
- High proficiency in English is required.
- Working knowledge of Arabic is highly desirable.
- The role requires strategic perspective, strong negotiation, relationship management, analytical, research, and interpersonal skills.
- The role requires effective collaboration with individuals at all organizational levels.
