The role designs, builds, and scales backend services that power company products.
The position is a senior individual contributor role involving complex project ownership, technical strategy, and mentoring.
Focus Area
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable, reliable, and secure backend services and APIs.
- Own large technical projects from design through deployment and maintenance.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to deliver customer experiences.
- Lead architectural discussions and advocate for engineering best practices.
- Write clean, maintainable, efficient code with comprehensive tests.
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers through code reviews and design sessions.
- Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and system issues.
- Stay current with backend technologies and share knowledge across the team.
Profile
- At least 7 years of professional experience in backend software development.
- Experience building and maintaining distributed, scalable, and high-performance systems.
- Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and system design principles.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP and modern CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Good to Have
- Passion for working in a startup and comfort with ambiguity and fast iteration.
- Prior experience in early-stage or high-growth startups.
