Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable Java-based backend services for eyewa s core platforms (e-commerce, OMS, POS, CRM integrations)
- Build and optimize RESTful APIs and microservices used by web, mobile apps, and in-store systems
- Own end-to-end delivery of features, from design to production rollout
- Work on payment integrations, order lifecycle, refunds, and reconciliation flows
- Collaborate with OPS, Supply Chain, and Customer Support teams to build reliable post-order systems
- Ensure high availability, performance, and data consistency across systems
- Review code, mentor junior developers, and raise overall engineering quality
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues with a strong ownership mindset
- Contribute to architectural decisions and long-term platform scalability
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in Java (Java 8+)
- Strong experience with Spring Boot / Spring Framework
- Proven experience building microservices-based systems
- Strong understanding of REST APIs, authentication, and system integrations
- Experience with SQL & NoSQL databases (MySQL/PostgreSQL, MongoDB)
- Hands-on experience with Hibernate/JPA
- Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and design patterns
- Experience working in high-traffic, transaction-heavy systems
- Proficiency with Git and collaborative development workflows
- Strong problem-solving skills and ownership mindset
- Nice to Have:
- Experience with e-commerce platforms, OMS, POS, or logistics systems
- Hands-on experience with payment gateways (Tamara, Stripe, Checkout, etc.)
- Experience with Kafka / RabbitMQ
- Exposure to AWS or cloud-native systems
- Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes
- Experience with Redis or caching strategies
- Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools (Datadog, New Relic, etc.)
