Position Summary
Senior Software Engineer II in a technical leadership role building sophisticated Loyalty APIs for a large enterprise.
Lead the design, solutioning, and delivery of large-scale enterprise applications while maintaining business alignment, scope, schedule, and budget.
The role requires product focus, complex problem solving, cross-functional communication, and demonstrated technology leadership.
Technical Leadership
- Train and mentor team members and peers.
- Provide financial input on budgets, capital expenditures, and cost or resource estimates when requested.
- Identify opportunities to improve service delivery processes.
Delivering Technology
- Perform complex quantitative and qualitative analysis for service delivery processes and projects.
- Facilitate service provider deliverables and validate requirements before solutioning.
- Ensure projects follow development and business case processes.
- Coordinate with IT and vendor relations teams.
- Provide consultation for routine and complex systems development.
- Escalate degraded or missed service levels to business stakeholder executives.
- Coordinate deployment and production support with Operations and Infrastructure teams.
Governance and Service Providers
- Follow IT governance, service management, architecture, and project management standards.
- Maintain an appropriate balance between business and operational risk.
- Validate service provider project plans, schedules, deliverables, metrics, estimates, and outcomes.
- Plan team resource utilization and facilitate timely resolution of service delivery problems.
Skills and Experience
- 6–8+ years of hands-on experience with application development tools.
- 6–8+ years of software development experience with Java/JEE, relational or NoSQL databases, and application development.
- Experience leading end-to-end integration solutions for enterprise software or hosted high-tech services.
- Experience implementing microservices using industry best practices.
- Working knowledge of APIs, microservices, web services, REST APIs, DB2, Couchbase, and Cassandra.
- Ability to perform requirements analysis, architecture reviews, high-level solution design, and API specification development.
- Experience in agile development with an onshore and offshore model.
- Experience with deployment tools, CI/CD, Dynatrace or Trails, troubleshooting, and defect triage.
