Role Overview
dunnhumby is hiring a Senior Frontend Engineer for its growing engineering team.
The role focuses on scalable, high-performance web applications, backend API integration, maintainable code, Kubernetes-based applications, and CI/CD pipelines.
The role supports retail media measurement and personalized digital and physical customer experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Build modern React.js and TypeScript web applications for strong user experience and scalability.
- Implement and maintain modular, independently deployable micro frontend architectures.
- Integrate RESTful and GraphQL APIs with frontend applications.
- Write and maintain unit tests using Jest, React Testing Library, Enzyme, or similar frameworks.
- Set up and maintain CI/CD pipelines for frontend testing, building, and deployment.
- Optimize performance through code splitting, lazy loading, and reduced rendering times.
- Collaborate with product, backend, UX/UI, QA, DevOps, and other cross-functional teams.
- Mentor junior engineers and maintain documentation for components, APIs, and workflows.
- Work in an Agile process and fix and improve live production issues.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- At least 6 years of experience in core frontend technologies, including React.js and JavaScript.
- Strong React.js and TypeScript expertise, including hooks, functional components, and state management.
- Solid understanding of micro frontend architecture and independent deployment.
- Basic knowledge of Kubernetes and containerized applications.
- Proficiency with RESTful and GraphQL API integration.
- Experience with React unit and integration testing.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps.
- Expertise with Git workflows and frontend performance optimization.
- Strong communication, analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong experience in C# and JavaScript and with SQL-based databases.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with advanced state management solutions such as Redux, Zustand, or Recoil.
- Familiarity with Docker and containerized frontend deployment.
- Experience with design systems or component libraries such as Material UI or Ant Design.
- Experience deploying applications on Google Cloud or Azure.
- Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Google Analytics, Sentry, or New Relic.
- A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
