Role Overview

How You Will Contribute

• Build and operate reliable software systems with ownership for quality and performance.
• Integrate complex partner APIs and design resilient, secure payment interfaces.
• Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders to solve interconnected product and platform problems.
• Use observability, metrics, experiments, and prototypes to support data-driven decisions.
• Write clean, maintainable, well-tested code and contribute to software engineering best practices.

What Sets You Up for Success

• At least 5 years of PHP web application software engineering experience.
• At least 2 years of experience with MySQL or PostgreSQL; tuning and optimization are preferred.
• At least 1 year of experience designing and developing event-driven microservices in PHP or Java.
• Experience with modern infrastructure tooling such as DataDog, GitHub Actions, Kubernetes, Docker, AWS, Terraform, or ArgoCD.
• Ability to collaborate with leadership and non-technical stakeholders on highly visible projects.
• Strong knowledge of software engineering best practices, design patterns, and automated testing.

Bonus Skills

• Secure software engineering experience in regulated environments and familiarity with PCI-DSS are preferred.
• Large-scale engineering and Domain-Driven Design experience are preferred.
• Payments and/or travel industry experience is preferred.

Compensation

• Annual compensation is expected to range from $130,000 to $160,000 USD based on skills and experience.
• The stated salary range applies to US-based candidates.
