About the Role
Penta Consulting seeks a Senior Software Engineer/SME for a Vodafone transformation programme in Qatar. The role involves designing, building, and supporting Oracle DBX infrastructure, DevOps, SecOps, automation, and database administration in hybrid cloud and on-premises environments.

Responsibilities
- Design, build, configure, and support Oracle DBX stack infrastructure across on premises and cloud environments
- Support DevOps and DevSecOps initiatives by embedding security controls into CI/CD pipelines
- Manage high availability platforms, disaster recovery, backup and restoration processes
- Troubleshoot infrastructure, networking, virtualization, database, and application issues, performing in depth Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
- Support security operations, incident response, vulnerability remediation, and compliance requirements
- Install, configure, maintain, and optimize Oracle databases including RAC, ASM, Data Guard, OEM, backup & recovery solutions
- Manage and administer enterprise virtualization platforms including OLVM, VMware ESXi/vCenter, Oracle VM
- Deliver Linux administration, patching, hardening, tuning, and performance optimization across Oracle Linux environments
- Lead infrastructure automation using Bash, Python, Ansible, Jenkins
Requirements
- 8 10+ years' hands on experience in enterprise infrastructure environments
- Strong experience with hybrid cloud and on premises deployments
- Expertise in VMware, OLVM, Oracle VM
- Strong Linux administration (Oracle Linux 7/8/9/10)
- Networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, VLANs, SAN, TLS/HTTPS)
- Cloud platform experience (OCI preferred)
- Experience with DevOps and automation tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, Terraform, Ansible, Helm, Docker, Podman, Kubernetes, Bash, Python)
- Experience supporting security operations (firewalls, EDR, SIEM, vulnerability management, etc.)
- Oracle DBA expertise (RAC, ASM, Data Guard, backup/recovery, OEM, performance tuning)
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical capabilities
- Experience supporting business critical, high availability environments
- Proven track record in automation first and security first operations

Overview
- Penta Consulting is a leading provider of Technology resource Solutions with over 28 years of experience.
- We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer / Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join a high impact Vodafone transformation programme in Qatar.
- This is an on site, full time 12 month extendable contract role.
What You'll Be Doing
- Design, build, configure, and support Oracle DBX stack infrastructure across on premises and cloud environments.
- Support DevOps and DevSecOps initiatives by embedding security controls into CI/CD pipelines.
- Manage high availability platforms, disaster recovery, backup and restoration processes.
- Troubleshoot infrastructure, networking, virtualization, database, and application issues, performing in depth Root Cause Analysis (RCA).

Required Experience
- 8 10+ years' hands on experience in enterprise infrastructure environments.
- Strong experience with hybrid cloud and on premises deployments.

- DevOps & Automation: Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, Terraform, Ansible, Helm, Docker, Podman, CRI O, Kubernetes, Bash and Python scripting.
- Security Operations: Experience with firewalls, EDR, SIEM, vulnerability management, certificate management, patch management, micro segmentation, security hardening (CIS/CSS Benchmarks).
- Oracle DBA Expertise: Oracle DBX installation, RAC, ASM, Data Guard, backup/recovery, Flashback, cloning, OEM, DR testing, performance tuning.
What We're Looking For
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical capabilities.
- Experience supporting business critical, high availability environments.
- Proven track record in automation first and security first operations.
- Ability to work across Infrastructure, Cloud, Security, DevOps, and Database teams.
- Experience within telecom or other highly regulated enterprise environments is highly desirable.
