The position is part of Nutrien’s IT Digital Delivery Center and supports the design, development, delivery, and sustainment of digital and custom solutions.
The role reports to the Senior Manager, Digital Application Development and serves as a technical lead for assigned application platforms.
What You’ll Do
- Provide technical direction, delivery oversight, and day-to-day leadership for custom application platform sustainment and enhancement work.
- Lead incident response, root-cause analysis, defect resolution, performance optimization, cybersecurity remediation, and platform upgrade readiness.
- Partner with product owners, business stakeholders, architects, and delivery teams on priorities, technical solutions, projects, features, and enhancements.
- Review designs and pull requests, enforce engineering standards, and ensure solutions are scalable, secure, maintainable, and supportable.
- Coordinate onshore and offshore engineering work, knowledge transfer, time-zone coverage, and vendor execution.
- Use AI-enabled delivery tools and workflows to improve productivity, code quality, and delivery speed with human oversight.
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 7 years of professional software development experience, including production application ownership or technical leadership.
- Full-stack experience with .NET or .NET Core, React.js, API design, data persistence, and integration patterns.
- AWS cloud experience with knowledge of cloud-native design, reliability, performance, scalability, and security practices.
- Production support experience covering troubleshooting, incident resolution, root-cause analysis, defect management, and technical debt reduction.
- Proficiency with Git, pull request reviews, CI/CD, Agile/Scrum, and tools such as Jira.
- Ability to collaborate with business partners, product owners, architects, vendors, and distributed engineering teams.
