The opportunity
Shawbrook provides lending products across SME, real estate and personal finance markets through a combination of human expertise and digital technology.
The Senior Software Engineer will work in a product-focused team delivering continuous system improvements and new functionality.
Role and responsibilities
- Build and maintain application software to support product delivery objectives.
- Deliver features and enhancements using Agile methodologies while meeting quality standards.
- Work with QA to create automated tests and consider performance and security requirements.
- Assist with production deployments and service monitoring alongside the support team.
- Document system amendments in code comments and the online documentation system.
- Engage with management, technical teams and vendors to deliver technology solutions.
- Resolve complex software issues, assist with planning and estimation, and mentor Software Engineers.
- Maintain codebases, peer review changes and follow Shawbrook technical standards.
Skills and experience
- Hands-on experience designing and building complex end-to-end software systems delivered to production.
- Broad experience designing, programming and implementing large information systems.
