Role Overview
Qualys is seeking a Senior Security Research Engineer for its Vulnerability Detection Signature Research team.
The role develops vulnerability detection signatures for scanning products and resolves customer-impacting detection issues.
The position requires end-to-end problem ownership, peer mentoring, and confident handling of customer-facing issues.
Responsibilities
- Research, develop, implement, and improve vulnerability detections and scanning processes.
- Investigate customer-reported detection issues and modify code to resolve them.
- Drive customer calls and meetings to understand and address technical issues.
- Stay current on vulnerabilities, attacks, and countermeasures.
- Coordinate team tasks, prioritize work, and resolve customer issues on time.
- Mentor junior engineers and share knowledge across the team.
- Explore AI/ML for signature generation, detection accuracy, anomaly detection, and vulnerability triage.
Required Qualifications
- At least 4 years of experience in network and systems security.
- BE, B.Tech, or MCA, preferably in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
