About the Role
BAE Systems is seeking a Senior Safety Specialist to support the Project Safety Manager in coordinating safety and environmental activities. The role involves hazard management, reporting, and ensuring safety standards are met across the project.

Responsibilities
- Support the Project Safety Manager in facilitating and coordinating safety and environmental activities
- Implement and maintain the Project Hazard Management System including administration of the Hazard Log
- Develop and maintain the Project Hazard Management process
- Coordinate hazard management activities across various teams
- Arrange Hazard Management Meetings and ensure documentation
- Produce and maintain Project Hazard Log Reports
- Facilitate review of customer safety related dependencies
- Map Hazard Log into Project Risk and Opportunity Log
- Monitor deployment of Hazard Management Meetings/Safety Working Groups
- Monitor and report on Safety and Environmental metrics
- Provide support to customer meetings and internal reviews on safety issues
- Deputise for Project Safety Manager as required
Requirements
- Experience in safety and environmental management
- Knowledge of hazard management systems
- Ability to coach and develop less senior staff

Key Responsibilities
- Supporting the Project Safety Manager in facilitation and coordination of safety and environmental activities.
- Implementation and ongoing maintenance of the Project Hazard Management System including administration of the Hazard Log.

- Arranging Hazard Management Meetings ensuring all decisions are documented.
- Production and maintenance of Project Hazard Log Reports.
- Facilitate review of Customer safety related dependencies.
- Mapping of the Hazard Log into the Project Risk and Opportunity Log.
- Monitoring deployment of Hazard Management Meetings/Safety Working Groups.
- Monitoring and reporting on Safety and Environmental metrics.
- Providing support to Customer meetings and internal reviews for safety issues.
- Deputising for the Project Safety Manager as required.
