Overview
Oversees and supervises junior staff and ensures their abidance to going rules and policies as applied and implemented in the department
Maintains a sufficient inventory of material supplies and equipment for the performance of duties
Manages and reports shortage of materials to supervisor at the earliest convenience, ordering and approving replenishments when necessary
Performs all MRI procedures in accordance with department policies, procedures and protocols
Evaluates images produced for acceptable quality, appropriateness and completeness.
Forwards the images to the Radiologist for review and reporting
Provides advice to medical/technical staff on appropriate techniques
Directs and monitors all procedures carried out by junior staff under supervision and step in whenever there is a requirement
Manages and is responsible for the safe and competent use of all radiology equipment, patient appliances and aids used in the department
Accountabilities
- Ensures clear images for diagnostic purposes
- Monitors and develops as necessary quality improvement indicators to ensure continuous quality improvement & compliance with patient care standards.
