Job Summary

  • The Senior QA Analyst assists in development, coordination and execution of plans and activities of the Langara IT QA team.
  • Coordinates and performs comprehensive reviews of complex business and functional requirements.
  • Assists in design, development and implementation of testing strategies, methodologies and plans.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Performs requirements analysis and senior quality assurance testing duties.
  • Provides specialized QA expertise as input to quality assurance of College computer systems.
  • Performs reviews of complex business and functional requirements.
  • Represents and provides QA expertise when liaising with users, other IT groups and external communities.
  • Prepares, coordinates, monitors, and assists in planning and execution of User Acceptance Testing.
  • Develops and maintains established QA standards within all IT projects.
  • Translates requirements into test plans, test cases, and QA artifacts.
  • Contributes to implementation, documentation, and evolution of QA procedures.
  • Supports QA intermediate Analysts in complex issues.
  • Writes technical and non technical documentation; conducts training sessions.
  • Engages in business analysis and product management processes under supervision of Product Manager.
  • Performs other related duties and/or projects as required.

Qualifications Required

  • Undergraduate degree in Computing Science or a related field.
  • Minimum six years of recent experience performing Senior QA activities in ERP and other business applications.
  • Experience working in higher education preferred.
  • Proven understanding of UML and experience with UML modeling tools.
  • Extensive experience developing and executing all types of test cases.
  • Extensive experience building and developing complex test plans.
  • Extensive experience estimating, building, scheduling and executing test efforts.
  • Proven experience working in Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL.
  • Experience planning and testing in complex enterprise environments.
  • Experience in integration testing techniques, web services, and web servers.
  • Comprehensive understanding and experience in API testing.
  • Extensive experience with test management and defect management tools such as JIRA and JAMA.

Salary Range

  • CAD 45.73 CAD 52.09 per hour
  • Pay Grade: CUPE IT Paygrade H
  • Scheduled Weekly Hours: 35
