Role Overview
Senior QA Automation Engineer working remotely on a contract basis for a client.
The role focuses on automated testing frameworks, software quality and reliability, and collaboration across distributed teams.
Compensation
- The stated payout is $30–$80 per hour.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop automated test scripts using Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright.
- Execute and maintain automated suites covering functionality, performance, and security.
- Integrate testing into CI/CD pipelines with development and product teams.
- Analyze test results, document defects, and help resolve issues.
- Mentor junior QA engineers and improve testing methodologies and best practices.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- At least 5 years of QA automation engineering experience.
- Expertise in Python, Java, or JavaScript scripting.
- Proficiency with automated testing tools such as Selenium WebDriver, Appium, or Postman.
- Experience with Cucumber, JUnit, or TestNG test frameworks.
- Strong understanding of Jenkins, GitLab CI, or CircleCI and CI/CD integration.
- Ability to analyze complex system behavior and troubleshoot automated test failures.
- Familiarity with Git and branching strategies for test code.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Additional Skills
- Performance and load testing experience with JMeter or Gatling is a plus.
