Senior Python Developer – Vice President – Market Risk

Role Overview

Responsibilities

• Partner with management teams to integrate functions and identify system enhancements for products and process improvements.
• Resolve high-impact problems through evaluation of complex business processes, system processes, and industry standards.
• Provide applications development expertise and align application design with the architecture blueprint.
• Develop standards for coding, testing, debugging, and implementation.
• Analyze how architecture and infrastructure integrate with business goals.
• Define issues and develop innovative solutions through in-depth analysis.
• Coach mid-level developers and analysts and allocate work as necessary.
• Assess risk in business decisions and follow applicable laws, policies, controls, and ethical standards.

Qualifications

• Ten to fifteen years of relevant applications development or systems analysis experience.
• Extensive experience in systems analysis and programming software applications.
• Experience managing and implementing successful projects.
• Subject matter expertise in at least one area of applications development.
• Ability to adjust priorities quickly as circumstances dictate.
• Demonstrated leadership and project management skills.
• Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.
• Bachelor's or university degree, or equivalent experience; a master's degree is preferred.

Technical Profile

• Ten to fifteen years of experience building software and platform engineering solutions with core Python.
• Experience building highly scalable and performant platforms for data computation and processing.
• Expertise in Python libraries including pandas, NumPy, and SciPy, with object-oriented programming and design patterns.
• Strong foundations in data structures, algorithms, databases, and operating systems.
• Highly experienced with Unix-based operating systems.
• Hands-on experience writing SQL queries.
• Experience with source code management tools such as Bitbucket and Git.
• Banking or market risk experience is a plus, and CFA or FRM certification is a plus.
