MenuWise is rebuilding its foodservice intelligence platform for recipes, menus, nutrition, allergens, procurement, costing, and compliance.
The Senior Python Engineer will design and build backend systems powering the platform's data capabilities.
The role contributes to platform architecture, technical standards, scalability, and future AI capabilities while collaborating with Product, QA, Data, and Operations.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain scalable backend applications using Python, Django, and Django Admin.
- Develop REST APIs, backend services, ETL pipelines, workflow automation, and internal operational tools.
- Build web-scraping solutions with Scrapy, Playwright, Requests, or similar frameworks.
- Design background jobs, scheduled tasks, and data-validation workflows.
- Optimize PostgreSQL databases and improve application performance.
- Collaborate with Product, QA, and Engineering teams and contribute to architecture and coding standards.
- Explore AI and LLM integrations for data enrichment and automation.
Minimum qualifications
- 5+ years of professional Python development experience.
- Strong hands-on experience with Django and Django Admin.
- Experience building production-grade backend systems and ETL or data pipelines.
- Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL.
- Hands-on experience with Scrapy, Playwright, Requests, or similar web-scraping tools.
- Experience with Docker, Git, modern development practices, debugging, problem-solving, and system design.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience with FastAPI, Celery, Airflow, RabbitMQ, LLM or AI integrations, image processing, or computer vision.
- Experience with SaaS products, large datasets, or supplier, retail, hospitality, or foodservice domains.

Pay
