Role Overview
The Senior Project Engineer works within the Grid Technologies Substations Project Management team.
The role leads substation projects for major clients across the UK and Ireland, ensuring safe, timely and budget-compliant delivery.
The position targets experienced engineering project-management professionals in energy and power transmission.
How You Will Make an Impact
- Lead, mentor and develop a team of project professionals.
- Oversee end-to-end substation-project execution against quality and safety standards.
- Manage project governance, risk management and change control.
- Escalate complex project challenges and facilitate timely decisions.
- Manage client, subcontractor and stakeholder relationships.
- Support continuous improvement in project-management processes and team performance.
What You Bring
- Significant project-management experience in the energy, power-transmission or substation sectors is required.
- Proven leadership experience supervising professional-level employees is required.
- Strong capability with formal project-management methodologies and governance frameworks is required.
- Commercial awareness covering budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting is required.
- Stakeholder management, negotiation and communication skills are required.
- A bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline, such as Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, is preferred.
