Role Summary

The role designs and develops aesthetic components for laundry products, building on organizational and process knowledge to address business needs.

The engineer solves straightforward problems, analyzes alternatives, and works with moderate guidance and direction.

Responsibilities

  • Translate product requirements into subsystem, module, and component design criteria.
  • Develop and verify designs to meet schedule, cost, quality, and performance requirements.
  • Release CAD models, drawings, and bills of materials through the Windchill PLM system.
  • Perform DFMEA, tolerance stack-up analysis, and design-for-X activities.
  • Complete engineering calculations and manage cost, aesthetics, performance, and other design trade-offs.
  • Coordinate architecture, supplier, manufacturing, and customer capabilities with product targets.
  • Plan project work, allocate tasks, and drive design, testing, and implementation activities.

Minimum Qualifications

  • B.Tech or B.E. in Mechanical Engineering, or M.Tech/M.E. in Design or Mechanical Engineering.
  • B.E./B.Tech candidates should have 4 to 8 years of experience; M.Tech candidates should have 2 to 4 years.
  • The role includes product and component design, release drawings, design analysis, model shop or lab requests, and support for virtual or physical builds.

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Experience with plastics, sheet metal, molding, casting, and other manufacturing processes and materials.
  • Knowledge of design for assembly, reliability, manufacturability, and safety.
  • Proficiency in GD&T, design standards, and variation analysis.
  • Awareness of metal, alloy, and polymer materials and ability to interpret simulation or test results.
  • Proficiency in product development processes, TRIZ, and project planning and management.
  • Awareness or hands-on experience with Six Sigma, OPEX, or Lean tools and practices.
  • Experience working in global engineering teams and strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.
