Role Overview

Lead security product initiatives for Cloudera's data platform, focusing on compliance, vulnerability management, and public sector security requirements.

Enable government and regulated-industry customers to deploy the Cloudera platform securely across hybrid and private cloud environments.

Work cross-functionally with engineering, security, legal, compliance, field, marketing, sales, and documentation teams.

Product Vision and Strategy

  • Define and communicate the long-term vision and product strategy for the Cloudera Data Services Platform.
  • Create PRDs, user stories, and Jira epics that define product outcomes for performance, scalability, security, reliability, and usability.
  • Maintain a prioritized roadmap based on customer needs, market trends, and technical debt.
  • Conduct market research and gather feedback from customers, partners, and field teams.

Security, Compliance, and Vulnerabilities

  • Own the security roadmap for FIPS compliance, cryptographic standards, and secure configuration baselines.
  • Translate regulatory, customer, and internal security requirements into product requirements.
  • Lead FIPS certification scope, dependency alignment, validation planning, and ongoing compliance maintenance.
  • Own vulnerability and CVE prioritization and coordinate mitigation, remediation, and customer communication.
  • Improve processes for vulnerability tracking, impact assessment, and security advisories.

Go-to-Market and Measurement

  • Collaborate with marketing, sales, and documentation teams on launches, messaging, and enablement.
  • Define and track Data Services Platform KPIs, including adoption and revenue.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field.
  • At least 5 years of product management experience.
  • Hands-on experience with distributed data platforms, data analytics, and/or cloud-native data services.
  • Deep knowledge of the Kubernetes ecosystem and experience managing containerized products delivered through Kubernetes.
  • Experience with regulated industries, data compliance, and products deployed across public and private cloud environments.
  • Ability to write technical specifications, build user stories, analyze customer patterns, simplify complex solutions, and manage backlogs.

Technical Domain

  • Experience with AWS EKS, Azure AKS, GCP GKE, Red Hat OpenShift, SUSE Rancher Kubernetes Engine, or upstream Kubernetes.
  • Familiarity with GDPR, CCPA, FedRAMP, FIPS 140-2/140-3, SSL/TLS, OAuth/OIDC, SAML, or OWASP Top 10 is advantageous.
